Seddik Bacha was born in Ighram, Algeria. He received the Engineering and Magister degrees from the National Polytechnic School of Algiers, in 1982 and 1990 and received the PhD and HDR degrees in 1993 and 1998, respectively from the National Polytechnic Institute of Grenoble-France He served as Assistant Professor during six years in Algeria at the National Polytechnic School of Algiers and University A Mira of Beja?a-Bgayet. In 1993 he has been appointed Assistant Professor at Grenoble University and got Full Professor position in 1998. He is currently Program Scientific Director and Scientific Council Chairman at the SuperGrid Institute of Energy Transition (France). In parallel he is involved on the UE – Algeria joint program from renewables and energy efficiency from 2019 to 2023 as the Renewable Energy part responsible and deputy chief of the experts group. His research is carried out within the Laboratory of Electrical Engineering of Grenoble (G2Elab) and his interests relate to the modeling and control of electrical energy processes: Renewable energy systems, Smart buildings, V2G, microgrids and HVDC supergrids.

The course aims to provide students with knowledge and skills in the field of Instrumentation and Control (I&C) systems of industrial and research plants, with a particular focus on energy systems. The course introduces the fundamental concepts of I&C systems in an industrial context, and it presents traditional and innovative technological solutions available on the market. The course covers both analogue and digital I&C systems, discussing the advantages and disadvantages of different solutions. In particular, the course focuses on the transition from linear control to nonlinear control, outlining the main characteristics of nonlinear control systems. Some application examples and use cases are presented in the field of energy systems.

Mauro CAPPELLI is a Researcher at ENEA (the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development), Frascati (Rome) Research Center, Adjunct Professor of Instrumentation for Control of Energy Systems at the University of L’Aquila, Adjunct Professor of Monitoring and Control of Energy Systems at the Sapienza University of Rome and Affiliate at the DEWS Center of Excellence, University of L’Aquila. He has been proposed by the Italian Ministry of University and Scientific Research for the period 2023-2028 as Member States member of the EURATOM Scientific and Technical Committee (STC). From 2020 to 2021 he has been appointed by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research as the Italian Representative for the EURATOM-Fusion configuration in the Shadows Thematic Configurations operating as sub-groups of the Shadow Strategic Program Committee of the European Research Program Horizon Europe (2021 -2027). Since 2018 he is Associate Editor of the ASME Journal of Nuclear Engineering and Radiation Science. He got a Laurea (B.Sc. + M.Sc.) degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Perugia, a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Sapienza University of Rome, a Master in Nuclear Safety at the University of Pisa, a Master in Fusion Energy at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, two post-laurea specialization degrees in Technological Teaching at the University of Romatre, and a post-laurea certificate in Total Cost Management from the Bocconi University.

Fausto Pedro García Márquez works at UCLM as Full Professor (Accredited as Full Professor from 2013), Spain, Honorary Senior Research Fellow at Birmingham University, UK, Lecturer at the Postgraduate European Institute, Research Fellow at INTI International University&Colleges, Malaysia, and he has been Senior Manager in Accenture (2013-2014). He obtained his European PhD with maximum distinction. He has been distinguished with the prices: Nominate Prize (2022), Gran Maestre (2022), Grand Prize (2021), Runner Prize (2020) and Advancement Prize (2018), Runner (2015), Advancement (2013) and Silver (2012) by the International Society of Management Science and Engineering Management (ICMSEM), First International Business Ideas Competition 2017 Award (2017), etc.  He has published more than 244 papers (153 JCR: 73-Q1; 41-Q2; 31-Q3; 8-Q4), some recognized as: “Progress in Photovoltaics: Research and Applications” (Q1, IF. 8.49, one of the most downloaded in first 12 months of publications, 2023),  “Applied Energy” (Q1, IF 9.746, as “Best Paper 2020”), “Renewable Energy” (Q1, IF 8.001, as “Best Paper 2014”); “ICMSEM” (as “excellent”), “Int. J. of Automation and Computing” and “IMechE Part F: J. of Rail and Rapid Transit” (most downloaded), etc. He is the author and editor of over 50 books (Elsevier, Springer, Pearson, Mc-GrawHill, Intech, IGI, Marcombo, AlfaOmega,…), >100 international chapters, and 6 patents. 基于電壓源型換流器(VSC)的柔性直流技術(shù)日趨成熟,并且隨著對(duì)大容量和高供電靠性的要求不斷提高,未來(lái)將會(huì)有更多雙極結(jié)構(gòu)的直流輸配電系統(tǒng)。然而,基于模塊化多電平換流器(MMC)VSC的雙極系統(tǒng)存在一些特殊的故障特性。其中一類(lèi)故障是換流器閥側(cè)單相接地故障,這類(lèi)閥側(cè)故障可能導(dǎo)致電網(wǎng)側(cè)故障電流不過(guò)零和上橋臂子模塊電容過(guò)電壓等。本報(bào)告的內(nèi)容將基于東芝國(guó)際(新北海道-本州)與蘇格蘭電力公司(ANGLE-DC)的兩個(gè)實(shí)際工程來(lái)討論換流器閥側(cè)單相接地故障在半橋型MMC和級(jí)聯(lián)式三電平Cascaded three-level NPC換流站的故障特性和具體保護(hù)措施。
